The Glamorgan History Walks are an award winning series of guided walks to places of historical interest across the ancient county of Glamorgan. This walk takes you on a voyage of historical discovery in Merthyr Mawr.
Merthyr Mawr has to be one of the most picturesque villages in the country. This walks takes in all the sights. Including the medieval bridge with mysterious holes in the walls.
But this sleepy village has seen its fair share of horrors. We visit the site of an inn where terrifying events took place. And we visit the prisoner of war camp where the German POWs tunnelled out to freedom.
