Nation Broadcasting has achieved a new record high listening hours total in the latest national audience survey (RAJAR Q4 2025).
Nation, the UK’s largest independent operator of local, regional and national commercial services, recorded 7.15M listening hours, the first time the group has broken the 7M listening hours milestone. Its weekly audience climbed 16% on the previous quarter to over 1.1 million listeners.
Nation’s Founder Jason Bryant said; “Nation has achieved strong growth in the past 2 years, driven by significant investment in platforms and programming. Total Hours have improved by 24% on this time last year and by almost 50% on the comparable quarter two years ago. Our network of local, regional and national stations provides great content for listeners and are excellent marketing platforms for national and local advertisers. Importantly, Nation can look ahead to further growth, with some exciting strategic developments in the pipeline.”
Stand out performances this quarter came from Nation Radio Wales, up 20% in listening hours on the previous quarter (to 1.2M), Swansea Bay Radio, where Leigh and Claire at Breakfast have helped drive a huge increase of listening hours year-on-year (+700%), Nation Radio Yorkshire which delivered over 500,000 listening hours, Nation Radio North East which recorded its highest ever weekly audience of 96,000 and Nation Easy Radio on the south coast which recorded record over 400,000 hours of weekly listening.
Nation’s Group Programme Director Neil Greenslade said; ”This is a fantastic result and so rewarding for our brilliant programming teams across the UK.”
