Midge Ure is a Scottish singer, songwriter, musician and producer, best known as the frontman of Ultravox and co-writer of the 1984 charity classic “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” with Bob Geldof.

From success with bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy and Visage before joining Ultravox in 1979 with MIdge at the helm, Ultravox became one of the defining acts of the British new-wave era, scoring hits including “Vienna,” “Dancing with Tears in My Eyes” and “The Voice.”

He has also enjoyed a successful solo career, with hits such as “If I Was”, and has remained active as a performer, songwriter and producer. Alongside Geldof, Ure was a key organiser of Band Aid, Live Aid and Live 8, making a lasting contribution to music and charitable fundraising.

Nation Broadcasting’s Promotion 'WIN Tickets to Midge Ure at Connexin Live!' (‘Promotion’) is organised by Nation Broadcasting. The Promotion will run from Monday 14th September 2026 at 00:00 until Friday 25th September 2026 at 16:59 across Nation Radio Yorkshire.

The Promotion is subject to these Specific Rules and the General Terms and Conditions which are available here (together, the ‘Competition Terms’). Entry into the Promotion constitutes acceptance of these Specific Rules and the General Terms and Conditions.

To enter the Promotion you must enter via the entry form. 

You must select the correct answer from the multiple choice options.

Only correct entries will be counted.

The Prize is x2 tickets to 'The Proclaimers' at Connexin Live, Hull, Thursday 15th October 2026.

The Winner must be registered on the AXS app to receive the Prize.

All prizes are non-transferrable and no cash alternative will be offered.

Prize does not include any necessary travel/transport that the winner may require to redeem their prize.

We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who does not comply with any of the eligibility criteria and/or is in breach of these Terms. We reserve the right to repeat the competition mechanic or any stage of it in order to draw a winner that fulfils all of the eligibility criteria and is in compliance with these Terms
