Exeter Winter Wonderland returns to Northernhay Gardens from Friday 20th November 2026 to Sunday 3rd January 2027 (closed Christmas Day), bringing festive fun to the heart of the city.

At the centre of it all is our undercover, all-weather real ice rink, so you can skate whatever the weather. Sessions last 45 minutes with skates included, and penguin skate aids are available for younger children. Children can skate from age 3, with 3 to 7 year olds skating alongside an adult.

On select dates from 28th November to 24th December, Santa’s grotto opens its doors. Children can visit the Elf Workshop, post their letter to Santa, share their Christmas wishes and receive a festive gift to take home.

The Festive Light Trail returns brighter than ever and is free for everyone to wander. There are also classic funfair rides for little ones, festive food and drink stalls, the undercover Alpine Bar, and special guests including the Grinch popping in throughout the season.

This year we’re supporting ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund), with a memory tree by the ice rink where you can hang your own tag for free, or take one of ours with a donation to ELF.

Opening times: Monday to Thursday 11am to 9pm, Friday to Sunday 10am to 10pm. Northernhay Gardens is a short walk from Exeter Central station, and there’s no parking on site.
