Discover the amazing story of the Polish 307 Squadron which defended Exeter and the rest of the south-west from enemy bombers during the Second World War.
A new exhibition, in English and Polish, tells the story of the nightfighters of the Polish 307 Squadron which was based at RAF Exeter (now Exeter Airport) between April 1941 and April 1943. The squadron defended the city during the blitz of April-May 1942 and potentially prevented the city's total destruction.
The exhibition taking place at Exeter's Historic Guildhall on the High Street includes archive video material and memorabilia. The Polish flag will be raised over the Guildhall by the Lord Mayor at 10am on Sunday 15th November in memory of the squadron.
