Skirting the Northumberland National Park, Hadrian's Wall is just under an hour from the vibrant city of Newcastle, home to a Marie Curie Hospice.

About the route
The route starts (and finishes) in the picturesque small town of Haltwhistle, the closest community to Hadrian's Wall.
We'll then pass through Haltwhistle's quaint town centre, before joining the tranquil Haltwhistle Burn.
The routes will be peppered with dramatic crags and ancient roman ruins.
We'll then join the most dramatic stretch of the 73-mile wall, passing Winshields Crags and Cawfields Lake among others.
The trail will end with a tranquil return down Haltwhistle Burn where you'll be awarded with your Beat the Trails medal and a well-earned glass of fizz!
