Booklovers in Carmarthen looking to stock up on some great holiday reads won’t want to miss out on this summer’s bargain book sale at St Peter’s Church.
The book sale has become a regular fixture in the Church calendar in recent years and one where everyone is welcome to pop in, browse the books, and enjoy a cup of tea and a chat.
This summer’s event is shaping up to be one of the best yet with the sale running over two weeks! As well as an impressive array of preloved literary titles, games, and a raffle, there will be a selection of delicious homemade cakes and produce for sale.
What makes the St Peter’s book sale special is that all books are donated by the community for the community. As ever, there will be a wide range of genres, including general fiction, classics, thrillers, biographies, cookery, history, poetry as well as a good Welsh language and Children’s section. Prices are rock bottom - as little as three paperbacks for £1.
St Peter’s Church Book Sale starts on Wednesday July 24th from 11.30am-3pm. The sale then runs as follows: Thursday 25th, Friday 26th, Saturday 27th, Monday July 29th and Tuesday 30th from 10am-2pm; Wednesday July 31st from 11.30am-3pm; Thursday August 1st, Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd from 10am-2pm. Entry is free, and everyone is welcome. All funds from the sale will go to St Peter’s Church.

Donations of books, cakes and raffle prizes are gratefully received.

St Peter's Church has a history stretching back nearly a thousand years and houses many features of historic interest which include some of the finest wall memorials in Wales. It is the oldest building in continuous use in Carmarthen and provides a stunning backdrop for the book sale.
