This is a two day course running on Tuesday 20th October and Tuesday 27th October. Learners must attend the two full days.

Develop your understanding of mental health and gain practical skills to recognise signs of mental ill health, provide initial support and signpost people towards appropriate help.
This nationally recognised qualification is suitable for people working in all sectors and is particularly valuable for employees, managers, volunteers and anyone who wants to develop their confidence in supporting mental health and wellbeing.
What the course covers:
Mental ill health in yourself and others
Recognising signs and understanding how mental health can affect individuals
Principles of mental first aid
How to listen effectively and provide initial support
Signposting people to appropriate professional help
Mental wellbeing in the workplace
Creating a positive workplace environment
Promoting a culture that encourages open conversations and reduces stigma
Resilience and self-care
Practical strategies for maintaining your own mental wellbeing and supporting others
Assessment and qualification:
The course includes two multiple-choice examinations, with an examination at the end of each training day.
Successful learners will achieve the Highfield Level 2 Award in Introduction to First Aid for Mental Health (RQF), subject to meeting the qualification and assessment requirements.
A course handbook is included.
